Di Cook Award

The Statistical Society of Australia Victorian and Tasmanian Branch (SSA Vic & Tas) is proud to present the Di Cook Award, an open-source statistical software award for students (or recent graduates) of Victorian and Tasmanian institutes. Examples of open-source statistical software include Python library, R-package, Julia library, and web apps (made by Shiny or otherwise).

This award was established after it was proposed in the SSA Vic Council meetings. The SSA Vic Council approved the award and a subcommittee was established to make the rules and criteria, which was later approved by the full Council. The award was first announced publicly on 22nd September 2021 at the SSA Vic event on that day. The award will be given out yearly.
